An IM (Instant Messaging) client that is open to communicate to others is normally called a JABBER client. Examples include, but are not limited to: GoogleTalk, Fring, MSN, Yeigo, QQ, Nimbuzz, Mig33 etc.

 

 

 

IMPay always displays the cost of the USSD service. This is currently 20 cents per minute.

 

 

Requirements – what you would need:
Jabber-enabled chat client PC or Mobile e.g. Google Talk, Yeigo etc.
SA Identity document
Valid SA Mobile Phone number
Valid email address
Hint: Add IMPay™ Service string (*120*46729#) as a phonebook contact before you start so that it will be easier for you to dial the USSD string in the future.
Registration Outcome:
During this registration process you will create:
IMPay PIN
IMPay PIN Unblocking Key (IMPUK)
And a Bank Account will be created for you and you will receive an important email that will confirm your registration.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:
Step 1 Adding IMPay as an Instant Messaging Contact
  1. Add the Jabber contact im-me@user.IMPay.co.za  to your contact list in your client.
 
Step 2 Registration Continued via Instant Messaging
2. Start a chat session by sending the word 'signup' to im-me@user.IMPay .co.za and following the prompts to complete the registration.
3. Confirm your registration request by sending 'y' or 'yes'.
4. Send your Surname as it appears on your ID.
5. Send your First name as it appears on your ID.
6. If you have any middle names, send 'y' and follow the prompts to enter you middle names, otherwise, send 'n'.
7. Send through your normal 10-digit Mobile Phone number. This must be a valid number, and belong to you. You will need to use it to continue with registration.
Hint: Add IMPay Service string (*120*46729#) as a phonebook contact before you start so that it will be easier for you to dial the USSD string in the future.
 
Step 3 Using USSD to Create a Secret IMPay PIN
8. Please dial the USSD service string provided, and complete the necessary information. This includes you ID Number, an IMPay PIN, and a secondary IMPay PIN Unblocking Key (IMPUK). Your IMPay PIN is used to authenticate yourself during IMPay sessions. Your IMPUK is an additional secret key which you need to keep safe, just in case you forget you IMPay PIN, and we can then verify who you are.
You must only enter your IMPay PIN or IMPUK when dialing an IMPay published USSD String.
9. Once you have completed the USSD registration process, you will continue in the registration IM chat session.
We suggest that you add the USSD string as a contact in your mobile phone address book so that it will be easier for you to dial the USSD string in the future.
 
Step 4 Complete your registration via Instant Messaging
10. Send your email address. This needs to be a valid email address, as important registration information is sent to this address (like your account number). We will not send any unsolicited email to this address.
11. If you accept the terms and conditions for using IMPay, send 'y' or 'yes'. If you do not, your registration session will be terminated.
12. Confirm the details you have entered by sending 'y' or 'yes'.
13. IMPay will send you a confirmation email that will provide you a confirmation of your registration.
Your account is created and you can start depositing funds into your account. You will not be allowed to make any payments or purchases from your account until we can validate your ID document. You may deposit funds. You will have 72 hours to send us a copy of your ID Document.
 
Step 5 Send us a Copy of Your ID Document
14. You will need to send an electronic copy of your ID document to IMPay. You can email it through to us, or send it via MMS. If your Mobile Phone has a camera, you can just take a picture of you ID Document, and send it as an MMS to reg@IMPay.co.za.
 
Step 6 IMPay validate your Registration Information
15. IMPay will send you a confirmation email that will provide you with a confirmation of the validation of your ID Document, and your account restrictions will be lifted. You will now be able to perform payments and make purchases.

IMPay is a pre-paod transaction account so your employer should be able to pay your salary into your IMPay account.

Please ensure that you always use your account number when depositing funds into your account.
