Gifts delivered to Food Pantry

Over the past few weeks, as part of the 2011 Stewardship Campaign, members of Lebanon First UMC brought many items of food to the altar at the church. On Monday, November 14, several church members loaded all the donations into Joe Zimmerlee's van to be delivered to the Lebanon Food Pantry at St. Paul's UCC.  Food baskets will be assembled and delivered to families in Lebanon in time for Thanksgiving.

The Stewardship Campaign, Our Three Gifts: A Program of Faithfulness, was modeled on the Magi's gifts ot the Christ Child. The Myrrh team requested that members of the congregation bring six different items of food over six Sundays in October and November - mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce, cake mix, and money for a turkey or ham - enough for a Thanksgiving meal for a family of four.  The altar was filled with the food items, which were blessed by Rev. Peter Wehrly on Pledge Sunday, November 13.
